Job description

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Materials professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.

As a Director of Materials Management / Materials Manager, you are responsible for all the purchasing functions, storing, and issuing of all stored food, beverage, general, engineering, and operating equipment. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

  1. Manage all administrative functions of the Materials Department, inclusive of staffing, training, and fulfillment of other related duties.
  2. Maintain logical storeroom inventory levels operationally needed.
  3. Oversee overall hygiene, fire and safety, proper storing arrangement, cleanliness of storerooms and freezers according to corporate, local, and international standards.
  4. Inform management and department heads on pending items, new procedures, system difficulties, and other related matters.
  5. Obtain written approval for established stock levels by the Director of Finance / Financial Controller and General Manager.
  6. Issue regular slow-moving item lists.
  7. Ensure validity of items are available, force issue obsolete items, and follow up on action taken for disposal.
  8. Verify that all documentation and proper quotations are maintained and filed according to Rotana Policy and Procedure requirements.

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should ideally have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years' experience in a similar position within a multinational group. Command of an international computer purchasing system software and previous Middle East experience are essential. Good command of written and spoken English is a must; knowledge of the Arabic language is an added benefit.
