Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to design functional and efficient architectural and engineering solutions for National Guard facilities.
- Prepare and review architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with government and military requirements.
- Provide technical leadership in the development of design solutions, ensuring integration of architectural and engineering elements.
- Ensure that designs meet the required safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other design professionals during construction to ensure that designs are properly executed.
- Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction and address any issues related to design or technical specifications.
- Ensure the design of building systems (structural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing) complies with applicable military and government regulations.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and design documentation to support bidding and approval processes.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and evaluate the financial feasibility of design options.
- Review and approve design modifications, ensuring they remain in line with the overall project objectives and budget.
Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in architectural and engineering design, preferably with a focus on government, military, or large-scale building projects.
- Strong knowledge of military construction regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.) and engineering tools.
- In-depth knowledge of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems in building construction.
- Experience with managing multiple aspects of building design, including sustainability, safety, and accessibility.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
