Mechanical Technician

To repair and troubleshoot the machinery.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Ensure all operating, safety, environment, and quality procedures are followed to ensure the highest standards of operational integrity are achieved and maintained.
2. Observe and inspect equipment and identify any defects/issues to ensure that equipment is functioning properly and in compliance with specific operating standards.
3. Carry out PM activities according to maintenance plans and checklists.
4. Make temporary and/or permanent repairs as per assignments to ensure that spare repaired parts are always available.
5. Communicate clearly with technicians on the next shift about current maintenance/repair activity, equipment operation, and conditions to ensure proper handover of the shift with full and clear information.
6. Report all activities and measures to supervisors to ensure appropriate remedial action and/or planning of future maintenance activity.
7. Inspect maintenance tools and equipment to ensure they are always in good working condition and fit for purpose.

Skills & Knowledge:

• 5 years of experience in heavy industry (same industry is preferable, Steel, Cement, paper, glass).
• Knowledge of major mechanical parts (gears, bearings, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic parts).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
• Knowledge of screw compressors.
• Complete knowledge of operating and safety procedures and standards.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Decision-making skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Independent, self-starter with good written, communication and analytical skills.
• Performs a variety of tasks; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• English language fluency.
