Description

IFC — a member of the World Bank Group — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet.

The Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) Industry Group plays an important role in supporting IFC’s strategic priorities, covering investments in the manufacturing, agribusiness and services (i.e. health and education plus tourism, retail and property) sectors. MAS sectors play a critical role in providing goods and services to consumers; addressing core needs, creating jobs, contributing to government revenue and stimulating growth. In IFC’s client countries, these sectors can account for as much as 80% of overall economic activity in a given country.

To advance IFC’s objectives in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia (KSA), the MAS Middle East, Central Asia, Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan (MCT) Department is seeking to engage a Senior ETC Consultant to develop and expand relationships with local and regional clients, focusing on business development and client relationship management within the MAS sectors. This role will be responsible for cultivating and solidifying new client relationships, structuring and negotiating financing proposals, and exploring new project opportunities.

The candidate will have a proven track record in business development and execution in MAS sectors and experience with various types of investment products and transaction structures.

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Actively identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with high-potential MAS clients in the KSA
  • Present IFC's investment products, advisory services, and sector expertise to both new and existing clients, tailoring solutions to client needs
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential projects, with a focus on investment prospects that foster sustainable development and economic growth in the region
  • Build and expand a network among private sector players in the KSA to enhance IFC's positioning and deal-sourcing capabilities
  • Actively participate in and contribute to high-level discussions with prospective clients to identify strategic entry points and investment opportunities in MAS sectors
  • Provide strategic input to IFC’s regional MAS team on market trends, risks, and key players to shape investment priorities
  • Advise investment teams in structuring, negotiating, and finalizing financing solutions, offering expertise in investment structuring and risk management
  • Support IFC teams in initial project negotiations, leveraging knowledge of local market dynamics and competitive positioning
  • Develop and refine a MAS business development strategy for the KSA, ensuring alignment with IFC’s overall objectives

  • MBA or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in business development, relationship management, and investment structuring, with a proven track record in MAS sectors
  • Experience working with development finance institutions (DFIs) and an in-depth understanding of emerging markets
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills
