The Optical Transport (DWDM Delivery) PM is responsible to manage, follow up and coordinate all transmission and Legacy Technology migration and dismantling activities (DWDM, OTN and SDH) related to the Optical Transport program across all stakeholders and departments (Planning, Design, Transmission, Data Transport (MPLS), and Business Units).
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Follow up and coordinate DWDM/OTN new platforms and expansion activities across departments
Follow up Delivery issues with all concerned departments
Follow up fiber implementation and Space/DC power readiness with Fixed Network and Buildings department
Follow up on the clearance of any DWDM network Implementation dependencies
Follow up DWDM Rings, Ethernet switches, and New PE AGGs with Core department
Follow up IP MPLS configuration with integration team and make sure all related IP assignments being issued by Design
Ensure the End-to-End ISP/OSP readiness and handover
Perform analysis of the complete ISOW (ISP/OSP)
Coordinate ISP implementation with all related parties (Core Network Implementation, Fixed Access, Operations, Budget control and Hand Over Control domains).
Ensure migration activities are performed accordingly to the plan
Coordinate with Network Design Directorate for the preparation and issuance of Scope of Work and Work Order to Vendors
Ensure Network Databases and other tracking systems are regularly updated
Follow up on MDT requests and approvals
Follow up and ensure site integration activities (Configure IP requirements in MPLS network, verify and prepare site parameters in NMS, integrate new elements in the current network, Perform CWO cross-connections across network for any SDH Site.)
Report the transmission and backhauling activities progress regularly to the program management
Provide risks analysis, mitigation plans and recommendations
Monitor temporary (work around in case of urgency) and final solutions and implementation progress and migration
Support the team in DWDM troubleshooting and find solutions for blocking issues
Communicate the Priorities to all involved departments based on Project needs
Ensure the databases and tracking tools are updated on regular basis and all milestones tracked properly
Ensure DWDM readiness being communicated to the Vendors
E2E Management for DWDM/SDH for new/expansion projects for issued project from Infrastructure Design teams including the internal needs for data networks
Manage vendor during the project life cycle
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Engineering
Minimum 12 years of experience in Optical Transport Transmission mainly in DWDM/OTN/MPLS Delivery coordination activities and project management
Strong in Microsoft office
Good communication Skills
Experience with writing reports and preparing presentation
Strong knowledge of Transmission, IP/MPLS, DWDM, GPON networks
Knowledge of Legacy DWDM and SDH technology
Good Management, Leadership and presentation skills
Multi-vendor Experience
Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken); proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable
PMP certification is a plus and will be considered an added advantage
