Job Summary

The Duty Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and carrying out the preventive maintenance of engineering, operational requirements of the hotel as well as the reliable operation and maintenance of the physical plant, sewerage treatment plant, steam boilers, calorifiers, gensets, and other plant equipment and machineries of the hotel.

The Duty Engineer for preventive maintenance shall oversee and support the function of duty engineers in controlling operational issues in the hotel. Operational issues normally relate to 24/7 service to the needs of both external customers (guests) and operational departments (internal customers).

As Duty Engineer, we rely on you to:

• Monitor and control all mechanical and electrical plants of the hotel during shift periods.
• Execute the preventive maintenance scheme.
• Execute the Works Order Control System.
• Supervise subordinates.
• Control the budget of the preventive maintenance.

What We Are Looking For:

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years apprenticeship in the engineering field in a hotel environment.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in the engineering field in hotel operations.
• Supervisory skills.
• Good coaching ability and able to lead a team into hotel philosophy on customer service.
• Ability to train a minimum of 4 individuals out of the multi-skilled team.
