Role
ROLE OVERVIEW
Director Fire Engineering

Working as part of a single LINE organization to be accountable for the successful delivery of the Fire Engineering from a Design and Construction strategy and systems perspective of THE LINE region.

THE LINE region contains a variety of projects in a 9,500km2 land area, including the initial Hidden Marina Mirror Line phase 1 modules, the Landscapes of THE LINE, three special projects and the NEOM International Airport (NIA).

Requirements Summary
  • Experience with Fire Engineering from a consultant and client perspective; experience with Civil Defence is an asset.
  • Experience in process mapping and process modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Competence in negotiating with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Flexibility to adjust engagement strategies based on changing circumstances or feedback.
  • Ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Uphold ethical standards in all stakeholder interactions and communications.
ROLE COMPETENCIES & ACTIVITIES
Key Accountabilities
  • Successful delivery of the Fire Engineering Strategy, Design and Construction scope for THE LINE in a manner that supports the successful delivery of the project goals in terms of budget, schedule, quality, and sustainability.
  • Leading a team of supporting staff to provide support to the LINE Design Project Engineering Management teams for the regional assets as well as oversight of what LINE Projects are procuring/managing.
  • Overall accountability for the successful delivery of the Fire Engineering systems in the LINE regional assets (i.e. irrespective of how that work is delivered).
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive Fire Engineering strategy aligned with the LINE delivery strategy.
  • Develop implementation plans for Fire Engineering that consider project-specific requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and network to source opportunities for Fire Engineering.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances with technology providers, research institutions, and industry experts.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of Fire Engineering on project timelines, costs, and environmental footprint.
  • Regularly monitor and report on progress to leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 25 years of experience in Fire Engineering and related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and diplomacy.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Relevant Professional Memberships/Accreditation.
