The Digital Project Manager reports to the Head of Digital Platforms in managing the delivery and continuous improvement of digital initiatives within THE LINE project, leading the project and scrum management, tracking and reporting of deliverables and activities daily for the Digital Platforms team; identifying and managing stakeholders, blockers, dependencies, risks, and issues across all levels of the organization.
As a Digital Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing hands-on coaching, fostering accountability, and driving improvements in project/product agile delivery practices, while ensuring sustainable and efficient workflows in a culture driven by urgency, quick time-to-market, and immediate response to opportunities.
They will be required to ingest workstreams from stakeholders and leadership, logically developing team responses, manage work breakdowns and refinement of Backlogs (EPICs, Stories, Tasks, Estimates), and support the planning of digital initiatives and development.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Agile Delivery Manager and Scrum Master proficient in defining project scope, managing stakeholder expectations, and fostering a collaborative Agile environment, committed to empowering teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and continuous improvement to align project deliverables with business goals.
Digital/Technology Project Management
- Manage and coordinate the delivery team in accordance with the vision and strategy for the Projects team, aligned with the organization's business goals and objectives of design strategies and processes.
- Manage the delivery of initiatives from concept to completion. Work to support projects to drive them to complete on time and within budget. Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Continuously monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders. Identify and manage potential risks and issues that could impact project success and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Agile Coaching and Implementation
- Coach cross-functional teams on Scrum/Agile principles and practices, ensuring effective adoption.
- Lead Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives) to ensure collaboration and alignment on project deliverables.
- Help teams create and manage product backlogs, ensuring requirements are properly documented, detailed, and prioritized based on business value.
- Remove impediments and blockers that hinder the team's progress. Support the Product Owner in maintaining the product backlog and prioritizing tasks.
- Guide teams through the challenges of Agile transformations.
- Mentor and support our teams in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
Conflict Resolution and Issue Management
- Act as a neutral mediator between cross-functional and scrum teams, resolving conflicts related to priorities, timelines, and expectations.
- Establish clear feedback loops so that challenges and obstacles are addressed early with transparency across teams.
- Help the team create a prioritization framework to manage urgent ad-hoc tasks while balancing ongoing work.
- Encourage a culture where urgent demands are properly evaluated against available resources, timelines, and impact on project goals.
Continuous Improvement and Agile Maturity
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading regular retrospectives, focusing on actionable outcomes to enhance collaboration and delivery.
- Assess and guide teams through their agile maturity, helping them develop practices to become more self-organizing, cross-functional, and adaptable.
- Facilitate the identification of bottlenecks and suggest changes to improve velocity and team efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative environment and empower the team to self-organize and continuously improve. Coach development team to enhance productivity. Lead change initiatives and effectively manage transitions.
Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Collaborate with the cross-functional teams and senior leadership to ensure expectations are managed effectively, balancing customer needs with the project known constraints.
- Facilitate regular communication with senior leadership, providing insights into cross-functional scrum teams' progress, identifying potential risks, and recommending necessary adjustments to enhance agile practices and teams’ efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities. Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously improve project management and agile processes and workflows to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Portfolio/Program Management
- Oversee and manage the portfolio of digital initiatives, ensuring successful execution of them and underlying digital projects and solutions from inception to completion. Monitor and report on the progress of all projects within the portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with the leadership and stakeholders to ensure all digital initiatives are aligned with the company’s strategic vision. Evaluate and prioritize projects based on business value, resource availability, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Plan, allocate, and manage resources across multiple projects to optimize efficiency and ensure high-priority initiatives are fully supported. Identify resource gaps and work with leadership to address capacity issues or adjust project timelines.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks across the portfolio. Develop mitigation strategies to address potential roadblocks. Ensure timely resolution of issues and escalate when necessary to maintain project momentum and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure the successful delivery of each solution. Ensure dependencies between projects are well-managed and that cross-functional teams are aligned on priorities and objectives.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and plans across the solution portfolio to measure project progress and success, value delivered, and overall portfolio health. Provide regular status updates to the stakeholders and leadership team, highlighting project progress, risks, and resource needs.
- Design, establish, and operate the digital portfolio, program, and project management capability; socializing and educating teams and stakeholders.
- Continuously review and improve program and project management processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance delivery efficiency. Facilitate post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and apply best practices to future projects.
- Manage budgets and financial performance for the portfolio, ensuring that all projects stay within budget and deliver expected financial outcomes. Support leadership in financial forecasting and cost-benefit analysis for future projects.
- Manage the delivery of digital initiatives in a mature agile manner, organizing and executing delivery into Sprints, Backlogs, EPICs, Stories & Tasks. Leading agile ceremonies, tracking and reporting progress through Kanban boards and Burndown charts as well as agile plans and roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 15+ years industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in project and program management, preferably within a digital or technology-driven company. Proven experience managing complex projects or portfolios, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
- 10+ years as an agile practitioner working in disciplined and scaled environments
- Certifications: Preferably one or more related certification such as: Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP), PgMP, Agile Management Certifications (Safe, Scrum, CSM)
