Job Title : Desktop Support Engineer

Job Location : Abu Dhabi

Job Description :

1. Technical Support :

  • Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including operating systems, network connectivity, and application problems.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Knowledge of Telephony and contact center management.
  • Experience with Manage Engine Asset Management for maintaining assets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud.

2. Installation and Configuration :

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Set up and configure new computers, including operating systems and software applications.
  • Configure and maintain printers.
  • Ensure all desktop systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.

3. User Assistance :

  • Assist users with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop hardware and software.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new technologies and software applications.
  • Create and maintain user documentation and training materials.

4. System Maintenance :

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on desktop systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and manage desktop inventory, including hardware and software licenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to IT security and data protection.
  • Log and track incidents using a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT teams or vendors as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and communication with end-users throughout the resolution process.

5. Network Support :

  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues and printer configurations.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to resolve more complex network-related issues.

6. Security :

  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect desktop systems from viruses, malware, and other threats.
  • Ensure all desktop systems comply with company security policies and standards.

Experience & Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.

Technical Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common business applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with Active Directory and user account management.

Soft Skills :

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
