Provide support and guidance to the Engineering Team on technical matters.
Ensure the work of all discipline Engineers is completed in a timely manner and up to required standards.
Support the Design Team Leaders and Design Managers in the preparation of Engineering Department's outputs (design development, design detailing, As-Built drawings, etc.).
Provide advisory support to other parts of the organization by bringing deep expertise to bear on complex technical matters.
Develop and institutionalize Nesma's Engineering database, know-how, controls, and capabilities.
Provide support for the professional development of staff and ensure that their work is on track and as per schedule.
Review/Study the Design Criteria and Specifications of Projects.
Monitor Drawing Schedule and Study CADD and Engineering Hours.
Study different architectural proposals for projects.
Monitor Shop Drawings preparation and release to client for approval.
Suggest solutions for problems arising from the site.
Ensure that ISO procedures are followed correctly for the Engineering Department.
Propose Architectural Team Organization Chart for each project in coordination with the Head of Engineering Department.
Consult with the Head of Engineering Department to determine the scope of proposed projects and architectural design services required.
Account for the Architectural unit’s budget in close coordination with the Head of Engineering Department.
Study Building Classification and Architectural Life Safety Requirements based on International Codes for NFPA101 and IBC.
Propose Architectural Submittal Schedules for all projects in close coordination with Team Leaders and Design Managers based on Construction Schedules.
Ensure that the Architectural team meets the Architectural deadline submittal dates.
Review the submitted Architects CVs, conduct interviews, and submit evaluation reports to the Head of Engineering Department.
Conduct periodical Internal Coordination meetings with the Architectural Team to monitor the Engineering progress for each project and comply with Engineering Submittal Schedules.
Reply to all daily Architectural Unit team queries and questions to solve all Architectural problems and take decisions; discuss the decisions with the Head of Engineering Department for final approval and integrated coordination with all disciplines.
Conduct Periodical Meetings with project Structural and MEP Engineers for Architectural Shop Drawings Coordination purposes.
Coordinate with Procurement Unit Heads for Vendors Drawings and Material Selection; allocate coordination meetings between the Architectural Team and Procurement Team.
Take all necessary proactive actions to avoid any delay on Architectural submittals.
Monitor Material Finishes Presentations and ensure proper engineering-procurement coordination.
Ensure productive work distribution and allocation to all Architect Team Leaders, Architects, and Cad Operators in line with Engineering Schedules and Organization Charts.
Evaluate the Architectural Unit Team and recommend necessary training to enhance its potential productivity; submit it to the Head of Engineering Department.
Conduct site inspection visits, site coordination meetings, and site as-built take off along with the Architectural Team based on Project requirements.
Elaborate Minutes Of Meetings for all Coordination meetings with Site and Procurement.
Assist the Site Construction Teams during Project construction and ensure that all their site queries are answered by the allocated Lead Architect Coordinators.
Draft RFPs (Requests For Proposals) for selected contracted architects/engineers design offices based on established project criteria.
Prepare and coordinate with the Head of Engineering Department and Contract Department the Architect/Engineer Contract Agreement.
Study and compare Architect/Engineer fees/quotations and present contract terms in Comparison Sheets for final A/E selection.
Direct the Architects/Engineers regarding bidding and contract awarding procedures and answer all their queries.
Review Architect/Engineer proposals and verify compliance with project requirements; review plans, specifications, and engineering schedules in line with the construction schedule.
