Design Engineer – Electrical

Our client, one of the leading MEP specialist construction companies, is seeking to recruit a Design Engineer for their Electrical Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will mainly:

1. Assist Senior Engineer(s) in evaluation of the engineering content of projects designed by others.
2. Assist Senior Engineer(s)/Tendering Dept. as required in development of concept design for the Design and Build/EPC contracts and ensure to use recognized methods of calculation to a level by which materials and equipment can be procured and shop drawings can be produced.
3. Assist Project management team in all technical aspects of the works, including assistance with procurement where required.
4. Assist in liaison with the Client’s personnel in securing approvals of drawings, materials, and equipment.
5. Assist in liaison with CAD operators in the timely production of shop drawings to an acceptable level.

Responsibilities:

1. Gather all necessary requirements and information in order to prepare creative, thorough, and professional design proposals and test data.
2. Carry out calculations by recognized corporate procedures and with the use of corporate-approved design software to evaluate the performance criteria of systems and equipment.
3. Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
4. Coordinate and follow up to ensure timely execution of the tendering process and/or project execution.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Skills:

1. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience including supervision.
2. Knowledge and related experience of a wide spectrum of engineering services for building and infrastructure, particularly with electrical engineering.
3. Ability to assist in technical aspects of tenders.
