Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Contracts Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to manage all contract activity for a Division, a major market segment, or for a project of significant size, and represent the Company in negotiations of the most-complex contractual issues. You must be fully knowledgeable of all legal, business, financial, and long-term implications of prime contract negotiation and maintenance. Travel to the client’s offices or to the project site may be required, either before the contract receives final approval or during the life of the contract.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Negotiate the most significant contracts or contract modifications, often under difficult conditions. Draw upon broad prior experience to effectively negotiate the most favorable terms and conditions with prospective and current clients while achieving Company objectives.
  • Identify risks and contractual terms not conforming to Company policy.
  • Participate in Division, Company, and Corporate strategic planning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, participation in business plan development, etc.).
  • Select personnel, make staffing assignments, supervise work produced to ensure consistent high-quality performance. Provide training and development for personnel assigned.
  • Maintain active participation in related professional societies to keep abreast of relevant contractual issues.
  • Keep subordinates up to date relative to the availability of resource materials dealing with current contract administration and negotiation issues.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field with 15+ years of prime contract administration experience within a large international engineering and construction firm is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and the negotiation of prime contracts.
  • Capability to independently negotiate the most complex contractual issues.
  • Proven ability for managing and directing work involving complex situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract management.
  • Proven track record in all stages of the project life cycle from contractual frameworks to cost estimation to site management.
  • Experience in cost management through to contract administration and disputes.

  • Experience developing successful relationships at a senior level.
  • Direct experience interfacing with executive management.
