Contracts/Claims Manager

A leading main contractor in Riyadh is seeking an Arabic-speaking Contracts & Claims Manager with extensive experience in infrastructure projects across the GCC. The ideal candidate will manage contractual matters, handle claims, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with contract terms to safeguard the company&aposs interests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contracts Management: Oversee contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
• Claims & Dispute Resolution: Prepare, review, and defend claims related to time extensions, variations, and cost escalations.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential contractual risks and develop strategies to minimise exposure.
• Negotiation & Communication: Engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and legal advisors to resolve disputes amicably.
• Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to FIDIC contracts, Saudi laws, and GCC construction regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of contractual correspondences, claims, and dispute resolutions.
• Liaison & Coordination: Work closely with project teams, commercial managers, and legal advisors to align contract strategies with business objectives.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor&aposs degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 12+ years in contracts & claims management within a main contractor environment, focusing on infrastructure projects.
• Regional Experience: Strong understanding of GCC construction laws, dispute resolution procedures, and claims processes.
• Language: Fluent in Arabic & English (written and spoken).
• Technical Expertise: Proficient in FIDIC contracts, cost claims, delay analysis, and variations.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Chartered Status: MRICS, MCIArb, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Software Knowledge: Familiarity with Primavera P6, contract management tools, and legal documentation software.
