Contract Manager You as a Contract Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy based in Dubai, Dubai Emirate, United Arab Emirates. You will support our Sales & Marketing and Project Execution within our Transformer Business Unit. You will be contributing with an analytical, hands-on, and autonomous approach for the successful performance of Contract Management.

Your responsibilities:

1. Ensuring the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures.
2. Reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.
3. Analyzing prime contract terms to highlight areas of potential opportunity and risk, such as ambiguities, omissions, and conflicts, as work proceeds.
4. Cooperating with legal to draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements during the Sales and Project Execution phases.
5. Supporting Sales in RR preparation and support in the contractual session working closely with local legal when involved and with the tendering team.
6. Identifying the contract baseline (including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimate, proposal, schedule, and other documents incorporated in the contract) and highlighting areas of potential risk.
7. Ensuring timely and accurate execution of commercial aspects in the portfolio of contracts (i.e. payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, guarantees, etc.).
8. Verifying that both parties to the contract have fulfilled their contractual obligations and there are no responsibilities outstanding.
9. Assessing the success of the contract and determining if there are any lessons learned for future contracting.
10. Documenting and communicating to all appropriate parties any deficiencies found as part of the closeout process.
11. Developing Contract Management competence with the other functions of the company by conducting pragmatic training periodically.
12. Providing guidance and leadership on contract management-related matters to cross-department business team members, participating in claim negotiations, and providing professional support where required regarding purchasing activities ensuring flow down of customer terms and conditions to the vendors.

Your background

1. Bachelor’s degree in law.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant field / Risk Management/ Contract Management/ Legal/ Commercial Role.
3. Extensive experience in Contract Management functions and processes in project execution of EPC energy projects or similar industrial plants or manufacturing of complex industrial products.
4. Experience in working within internationally staffed teams and with international contractual partners preferred.
5. Solid experience in contract negotiation, change management, claim management, and contract-related legal issues and the possible effects in the relevant areas of responsibility regarding tendering stage and/or project execution.
6. Behavior and dealing with foreign cultures (Ethical Conduct).
7. Systematic and structured work style.
8. Flexibility and adaptability according to specific requirements.
9. Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment, result-oriented approach, proactivity, and open mind.
10. A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong written and verbal communication skills.
11. Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
