Job Summary

Our Accounting Advisory Consulting team currently has exciting opportunities within its Accounting Advisory offering for Banking and Financial Services clients. Our team advises clients on a wide range of banking and financing products, complex transactions, identifying issues and providing accounting options and solutions that meet our client’s objectives.

We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated accountant with a proven track record of high-quality delivery of client projects and strong technical knowledge in telecom and wider TMT sector with a commercially rounded mindset focusing on client requirements and needs and an ability to work in a demanding environment.

A key success factor for this role is a combination of strong technical knowledge with an “out of the box” way of thinking enabling him to bring innovative ideas/ solutions to complex issues.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role sits within a commercially focused technical accounting team in PwC, providing a fantastic development opportunity for the candidate to develop accounting and reporting skills alongside the opportunity to work on several iconic accounting and reporting transformation projects.

As a Manager, you will assist Senior Manager or Directors and Partners to deliver on complex accounting advisory engagements with a variety of clients. This will involve:

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and its practical applications in telecom and wider TMT sector to provide clients with advice that address their objectives.
• Ability to conduct in-depth research on complex accounting matters, prepare technical papers for discussion with senior team members and apply critical thinking.
• Strong task management skills as the delivery role may require you to work on multiple projects requiring a balance and management of tasks and commitments.
• Interacting and developing relationships with key client staff and engaging in a professional and confident manner.
• Develop and build positive relationships with both client staff and internal PwC team members including other PwC lines of services (such as tax, legal, deals, etc.).

• In-depth understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles in telecom and wider TMT sector.
• Strong interest and passion for enhancing technical accounting skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East based on project and client requirements.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team with a fast-paced, high-energy environment that translates into high-quality output.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload while being resilient and able to cope well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting, or finance.
• Certification in accounting: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or similar accounting certification.

Experience:

• 5 - 7 years’ experience of providing accounting advisory to telecom and wider TMT in a Big 4 firm.
• Experience in the GCC is beneficial.
