Job description

Position Objectives:

The Construction Controls Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring cost tracking, planning, scheduling, and document control for construction projects. This position is designed for a hands-on, energetic, and highly analytical professional who can fill knowledge gaps within the team, integrate digital tools (Power BI, Primavera P6, and BIM), and support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will facilitate seamless information flow, maintain project documentation, and assist in tracking costs and schedules.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Track project expenditures and align them with budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Support in quantity surveying (QS), including verification of contractor invoices and variations.
  • Conduct cost data analysis and forecasting using Power BI and Excel dashboards.
  • Work closely with procurement and contracts teams to ensure financial compliance.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 and MS Project to support project scheduling, planning, and tracking.
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, identifying delays, and coordinating recovery plans.
  • Support in critical path analysis (CPA) and recommend schedule optimizations.
  • Ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and document tracking systems.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Implement and maintain electronic document management systems (EDMS).
  • Ensure proper version control and distribution of critical project documents.
  • Track and manage project submittals, RFIs, contracts, and approvals.
  • Ensure project documents are archived according to established procedures.
  • Develop project dashboards using Power BI, integrating cost, schedule, and progress tracking.
  • Generate regular project progress reports, including cost reports and performance metrics.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify missing project data and ensure timely reporting.
  • Assist in risk assessments by tracking project cost and time deviations.
  • Work with the BIM team to support cost and time tracking within BIM models.
  • Ensure cost and schedule data is accurately integrated into 5D BIM workflows.
  • Assist in tracking and updating quantities and financial data linked to 3D models.
  • Ensure that all document control, cost estimation, and planning activities comply with project regulations and standards.
  • Implement best practices for document management, cost control, and project planning.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize reporting, cost tracking, and planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture, Construction, or related field).
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction cost control, planning, or document management.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Power BI, Excel, and document control systems.
  • Experience in quantity surveying, cost analysis, and financial tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of construction document control standards and best practices.
  • Exposure to 5D BIM (cost & time tracking in BIM models) is a plus.
  • Highly energetic, hands-on, and a problem-solver, able to fill gaps in the project team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to chase missing data.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
  • CCP (Certified Cost Professional) preferred.
  • PRIMAVERA P6 Certification preferred.
  • BIM (5D Cost Integration) Certification preferred.
