Job Summary :

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial operations of the company. This includes driving revenue growth, managing customer relationships, optimizing pricing strategies, and ensuring profitability through effective sales, marketing, and contract management. The role requires a strategic, results-driven professional with extensive experience in sales and business development, particularly in the construction chemicals or related industries.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Sales & Revenue Growth :
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive sales and revenue growth for the company's construction chemicals products.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure effective sales processes and strategies that align with company objectives and market demands.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, sectors, and key accounts.
  • Lead negotiations and close major contracts with contractors, distributors, and large construction firms.
  • Pricing & Profitability :
    • Develop and manage pricing strategies to ensure the company remains competitive while maintaining profitability.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demands to adjust pricing strategies.
    • Ensure that all commercial contracts and agreements are structured to protect company margins and are in line with financial objectives.
  • Customer Relationship Management :
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including architects, contractors, consultants, and distributors.
    • Provide tailored solutions to clients based on their specific needs, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
  • Marketing & Market Development :
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns to promote the company’s products and brand in the construction chemicals market.
    • Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform strategic business decisions.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to raise brand awareness and attract new clients.
  • Contract Management & Risk Mitigation :
    • Lead and support the negotiation of commercial contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
    • Manage the end-to-end process of contract development, from initial discussions through to final agreements.
    • Identify and mitigate commercial and financial risks associated with sales agreements and contracts.
  • Team Leadership & Development :
    • Lead and manage the commercial team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
    • Drive the performance and professional development of team members through training and coaching.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the commercial team, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and business goals.
  • Budgeting & Financial Management :
    • Develop and manage the commercial budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve revenue goals.
    • Monitor financial performance, track sales KPIs, and report on progress to senior management.
    • Provide accurate sales forecasts, budgeting, and financial analysis to guide business decisions.
  • Product Development & Market Feedback :
    • Collaborate with the product development and R&D teams to ensure that new and existing products meet customer needs and market demands.
    • Provide customer feedback to the product development team to help shape future product offerings.
    • Ensure that all products and solutions are communicated clearly to customers with supporting technical specifications and benefits.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance :
    • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all commercial activities.
    • Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance to ensure the company’s products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in commercial management or sales leadership, with a strong background in the construction chemicals industry or a related sector.
    • Proven track record in driving sales and revenue growth, particularly in construction or industrial products.
    • Strong negotiation, contract management, and pricing strategy skills.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of the construction chemicals market, products, and customer needs.
    • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

    Additional Skills (desirable) :

    • Experience with CRM software and commercial management tools.
    • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and certifications.
    • Multilingual skills (English + local language) are an advantage.
