Our newest opportunity is for a site based Commercial Director, to join our award-winning team based in Saudi Arabia (Remote Location).

The Commercial Director will be responsible for co-running C-Quest in KSA and will represent the firm in its dealings with all relevant parties, from pre-contract award throughout the entire course of the construction activities for medium to large-sized projects. We are looking for a dynamic individual with extensive experience in Pre Contract Commercial & Cost Management on a range of large-scale and complex developments.

Responsibilities:

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Managing the QS, Commercial/Contracts teams and supervising all commercial activities.
  • Acting in a client liaison role across multiple projects and clients in country.
  • Responsible for creating and following-up on business development leads.
  • Review and support the preparation of bids within KSA.
  • Supporting the finance team in issuance of invoices.
  • Providing formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.
  • Planning and monitoring appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labour.
  • Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
  • Ensuring management of the construction contracts and reporting thereon to the KEO/C-Quest Director is carried out consistently and promptly by the commercial/QS teams.
  • Maintaining communication with the KEO/C-Quest Director on all contract and commercial related issues.
  • Supervising the management of the project changes through the C-Quest Change Control Process.
  • Responsible for the deployment of individuals for overseeing and managing the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development estimates, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.
  • Providing guidance and training to project staff on Commercial Issues.
  • Supervising contract administration of the projects by the commercial/QS team.
  • Supervising the management of contractual cost controls and financial control procedures.
  • Supervising the management of projects on all matters related to commercial/contractual matters including claims and dispute resolution.
  • Supervises the monthly project cost reports and input to consolidated Monthly Report to clients.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envisage that you will bring a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience. Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying and will be chartered, MRICS or equivalent.

  • Highly developed knowledge of statutory and commercial frameworks with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data, prepare and control budgets and manage contracts.
  • Proven experience to effectively plan, lead, organise and optimise the performance of teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent communications skills across the board with the ability to write reports and presentations.
  • The ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.
  • Expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions with the ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients and other key stakeholders, to achieve business results and improve client outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles with ability to calculate complex figures and forecast and prepare budgets.
  • Extensive GCC market knowledge especially with respect to KSA markets.
