Job Description:

Programming and Setup

1. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Master Cam or Feature CAM, SolidWorks) for precision machining.
2. Interpret engineering drawings, preparing 3D models, and CAD designs to determine the correct machining processes and tools required.
3. Prepare and verify CNC programs, conduct dry runs, and ensure program accuracy and efficiency.
4. Set up machines by installing and adjusting tools, fixtures, and workpieces as per specifications.

Production and Quality

1. Operate CNC machines and monitor the machining process to ensure smooth and efficient production.
2. Inspect parts using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs) to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
3. Troubleshoot and adjust programs and machines as needed to maintain product quality.

Process Optimization

1. Work with engineers and production teams to improve cycle times and productivity.
2. Recommend and implement tooling, fixture, and programming improvements to enhance efficiency.
3. Assist with maintenance of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.

Documentation and Compliance

1. Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, setup sheets, and process documents.
2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all machining activities.

Team Supervision

1. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
2. Maintain accurate records of team performance, production output, and any operational issues.
3. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that workflow and production schedules align with company goals.
5. Oversee and guide the team’s daily tasks, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
6. Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet production targets.
7. Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, conducting regular audits or checks as necessary.
