Job Description Summary
The Clinical Nurse Educator 1 (CNE1), which may work in various JHAH locations and is subject to various work shifts, is responsible for enhancing the knowledge, clinical skills, and competencies of nursing staff within the Organization. The CNE will play a critical role in supporting clinical excellence through education, mentorship, and the implementation of evidence-based practices. This position requires a strong background in clinical nursing, education, and project management.

Operational Roles & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with nursing leadership and nurses to identify educational needs for staff development.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs, in-services, accreditation preparation, and training sessions for nursing staff and trainees.
- Develop and implement competency assessment tools and processes to evaluate staff and trainees' skills and knowledge per specialty and provide feedback for improvement.
- Develop and facilitate comprehensive orientation programs for new nursing hires. Ensure new staff are integrated into the clinical environment with the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
- Promote a culture of inquiry and critical thinking among nursing staff and trainees. Serve and lead as a subject matter expert in evidence-based practices, guiding nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams in the application of research findings to clinical care and projects.
- Provide direct clinical support and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Establish and oversee mentorship and preceptorship programs that support the onboarding and ongoing development of nursing staff. Act as a mentor to new and existing nurses, facilitating professional growth and development, fostering relationships and collaboration.
- Participate in system design enhancement and optimization and conduct product evaluation and new technology to improve clinical workflows.
- Participate in the review, development, and dissemination of nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Participate in organizational committees and task forces focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and staff development.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. Master's and/or clinical teaching certificate are preferred.
Professional Certifications Required
Current licensure as a professional registered nurse. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, project management, quality improvement, change management, time management, and organizational skills are required.
