Primary Purpose of the Position:
In this pivotal role, you will lead complex airport infrastructure design projects, ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence and client satisfaction. You'll provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery, and mentor a talented multi-disciplinary team. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of airport engineering and strong leadership skills to drive innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibility:
· Airfield Pavement Design and Management:
- Lead the design and management of airfield pavement projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, particularly ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations.
- Conduct detailed assessments and provide recommendations for pavement design, rehabilitation, and maintenance to ensure long-term durability and performance.
· Project Management:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of airfield pavement projects, from concept through completion, ensuring project milestones, budgets, and deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, engineers, and stakeholders, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
· PMC Role:
- Perform as part of a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, providing technical oversight, guidance, and management of pavement engineering tasks.
- Ensure that the project adheres to quality standards, safety regulations, and risk management protocols.
· Client Liaison and Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a primary point of contact between the client (JEDCO PMC) and the project team, facilitating clear communication and addressing client needs.
- Provide technical input and solutions during design reviews, project meetings, and site inspections.
· Hands-on Design Experience:
- Apply expertise in civil and transportation engineering, with a particular focus on airfield pavement systems, to create detailed designs and provide engineering solutions.
- Utilize hands-on experience to troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues that may arise during construction or maintenance activities.
· Regulatory Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that all projects comply with ICAO and FAA guidelines, as well as other relevant international and local standards, for the design and maintenance of airfield pavements.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- A Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering is essential, with an advanced degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering considered a significant plus.
- Strong academic foundation to support advanced technical and managerial responsibilities.
- Extensive Experience (15+ Years): A proven track record of over 15 years in civil engineering, with a specialization in airfield pavement design and project management, showcasing expertise in managing complex airport infrastructure projects.
- Hands-On Design and Project Management Expertise: Practical experience in the design, implementation, and management of airfield pavement projects, with an ability to oversee all phases, from initial concept to final construction and maintenance.
- PMC Experience: Prior experience working in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment is highly desirable. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to manage large-scale projects, provide consultancy services, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
