About the job:

Kent is looking for a Field Construction Civil Engineer to be based in one of our Saudi Arabia Projects.

Certification: PMP or an equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 12+ years in construction, specifically in refinery/petrochemical projects.

Relocation: Open to relocating to Saudi Arabia.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent. (PMP or relative PM certificate is preferred)

Job Description:

To provide execution planning, supervision or coordination services for capital projects, procurement of large engineered equipment and project materials. Extensive experience in refinery project construction, maintenance practices, projects planning and good project management skills, capable of directing personnel in the field/office. Very good communication skills, must read, write and converse fluently in English. Strong computer aptitude and high level of office organization are required to keep work items coherently organized.

  1. Plan, execute, monitor and control all construction projects safely and as per the budget and schedule.
  2. Allocate project materials to contractor and procure additional necessary materials. Control the procurement of materials through contractor.
  3. Coordinate with Samref inspection to complete the project inspections and ensure all Quality control plan and Inspection & test plan are completed upon project completion.
  4. Control any contractor change orders and evaluate along with respective project engineer to approve the necessary change order optimally.
  5. Prepare project progress report and take necessary action for any schedule variations.
  6. Control project construction cost and process contractor invoices on a regular basis as per the contract terms and conditions.
  7. Implement Samref's safety rules and regulations as they apply during the development of planned work packages in accordance to OIMS & T1BPs.
  8. Schedule weekly safety reviews for the assigned employees and contract staff workers towards quality and to carry out safe work executions.
  9. Coordinate with necessary vendors for the vendor engineered items and complete the testing and commissioning with them, if applicable.
  10. Participates in investigations of incidents/accidents to identify root causes and to establish written policies, practices or recommendations by which similar incidents/accidents may be prevented.
  11. Develop, complete clear and concise work packages.
  12. Utilize advance planning tools such as critical path scheduling and manpower.
  13. Write project contract scope documents to ensure highest level of safety & reliability is achieved during execution of tasks.
  14. Prepare job packs in accordance to OIMS, T1BPs to execute in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  15. Optimize the use of SAP functions of data accuracy, estimating, work close out and cost reporting.
  16. Monitor the usage of SAP PS.
  17. Participate in audits such as OIMS Assessment, OIMS Critical Verification Measurement (OCVM) and Quick Reference List (QRL).
  18. Supervise taskforces as required for individual projects as required by management.
