JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.
This role is responsible to the Fleet Management Advisory Service Team Manager through the Fleet Management Advisory Service Team Leader for the Strategic and Tactical capability insertion embodiment programme for the RSAF Typhoon Fleet. Responsible for In Kingdom management for embodiment plans, provision & management of contracted working parties and development & delivery of statements of work.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Coordinate industry MDAL inputs from across LOA 1 & LOA 8 in order to create capability insertion plans cognisant of the business needs and customer requirements.
- Develop a long-range Strategic Capability Insertion plan that integrates with the strategic fleet plan incorporating; future capability, capability enhancements, performance fixes, STO’s and Waivers.
- Formulate a ‘best plan’ for Capability, Availability and Cost, ensuring that insertion plans remain cognisant of the SSS Phase (X) KPIs, reducing risk where possible.
- Quantify and report where the strategic capability insertion plans’ could impact Salam contractual deliverables.
- Collate and manage industry inputs into the PIRM process at the 120-day point, for Major Upgrades, Waivers and STOs.
- Continual analysis of the RSAF typhoon fleet data in order to identify areas for future improvement in planning, tasking optimisation and maintenance efficiency.
- Preparation of the daily fleet status report and stakeholder briefing pack for the daily stand up meeting.
- Provide inputs for any formal reports as required by key stakeholders from RSAF, BAESSA or BAES.
- Provide proactive support and direction for on base RSAF stakeholders to ensure that all Capability Plans and programme changes as well as operational requirements are planned and accomplished effectively.
- Provide fleet direction to the other on base Salam Phase (X) stakeholders with regards to i.e. flying rates, Operator adherence, Scheduled and Corrective Maintenance, SMU, Depth Shops and Logistics.
- Acting as a key on base interface between the PC and the RSAF Fleet Management planners for capability programmes.
- Responsible for preparing fleet capability status reports and briefings to key senior stakeholders with regards to Availability, Capability, SMU Capacity & Performance, Future planning and RSAF Force Priorities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Witness and Integrated Maintenance System Long Range Planning (IMS LRP) toolsets.
- Support/facilitate and attend all Fleet Management meetings as required.
- Carry out team leader duties in absence of the FMAS Team Leader.
- Model and develop ad hoc insertion scenarios to optimise aircraft down time and ensure opportunities are not missed.
- Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in their Area of Responsibility follow the correct practices and observe safety precautions thereby complying with the requirements and limitations detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Extensive proven experience in a military/industry partnered aerospace company within an availability-contracting environment.
- Extensive supervisory experience in a high tempo operational environment in a Fleet Management or Maintenance position with knowledge of the Typhoon platform from a design or maintenance position.
- Previous working experience of fleet planning, capability & upgrade programmes or the test & evaluation environment and requirements of continuing airworthiness management.
- Thoroughly competent with all elements of Microsoft Office and other IT toolsets to aid the planning of all capability insertion activities and the preparation of all associated reports & briefings.
Desirable
- Working knowledge ESS, Witness & IMS (LRP) toolsets.
- An understanding of RAF and /or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
