Job description

Job Purpose:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales, developing marketing strategies, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, sales acumen, marketing expertise, and exceptional customer relationship management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
  2. Identify new business opportunities, target markets, and customer segments to expand our customer base.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  4. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor analysis, and customer needs.
  5. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing campaigns that generate leads and support sales efforts.
  6. Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for business expansion.
  7. Conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals with potential clients.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development and customer support, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  9. Analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and provide regular reports to management.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales and marketing.
  11. Lead by example and maintain a proactive and positive team spirit.
  12. Coach and develop the team to ensure the team has the relevant skillsets, training, and accreditations.
  13. Be commercially aware and seek and use customer feedback to improve service offered.
  14. Escalate and resolve service-affecting issues that arise promptly.
  15. Ensure timely provisioning and administration.
  16. Work closely with the sales team to ensure alignment and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  17. Handle short-term special projects such as ERP implementation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). Proven track record of success in business development, sales, and marketing roles. Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer relationship management, and marketing strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and develop business growth strategies. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving sales targets. Experience in managing customer relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Proficiency in using CRM software and sales tracking tools. Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills. Organizational and planning skills. A positive attitude and willingness to equip and encourage workers. Established credibility and integrity.
