JOB PURPOSE

Develop and execute strategic plans for long-term business growth of Sri Lanka at the level of products, applications, and customers. Lead Polymers business development activity in Sri Lanka, which includes identifying new business opportunities, developing client contacts, and evaluating their needs and feedback this to SABIC. Optimize business operating model, ensure compliance, manage credit risk and drive collaborations across supporting functions including Business Units, Market Development & Technical Marketing, Supply chain, Sustainability, Communications, Tax, Legal, Finance to achieve SABIC strategic priorities. Enterprising & influential communicator to help build partnerships and achieve consensus across stakeholders. Represent SABIC as the Country Leader for all SABIC businesses.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Create, own and drive execution of country strategic plans including go-to-market strategy by leveraging in-depth understanding of the market supported by multidisciplinary business processes including Business Units, Market Development & Technical Marketing, Supply chain, Market intelligence and Business planning.
  2. Engage with external stakeholders (industry forum, associations, market research companies, customers, regulatory bodies etc.) to monitor market trends, economical & political outlook, demand and supply, competitive activities and strategies as well as evolving environmental and compliance/legal policies that can create opportunities or threats for SABIC businesses and recommend appropriate response to them.
  3. Identify growth opportunities, including new product, new application, and market development.
  4. Manage credit risk, oversee monthly and annual demand forecast, monthly allocation, outstanding order management and develop country Polymers Business Plan and feed the information back to stakeholders for its planning and use.
  5. Determine target strategic customers and develop/manage key customer relationships.
  6. Develop long-term contracts and prioritize developing new opportunity pipeline.
  7. Monitor and update market price and keep abreast of overall market trends and requirements and recommend pricing strategies as appropriate.
  8. Price offers to customers, payment terms, delivery conditions, and conclude sales orders and contracts to achieve 100% Order Intake.
  9. Create operational excellence and manage business risk (credit, compliance) by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved, and all functions are executing in line with the strategy.
  10. Manage multiple product lines PE, PP, ETP, E3P.
  11. Identify initiatives and improvements that promote SABIC's image in the country and be the key liaison person with industry associations and regulatory authorities where required.
  12. Maintain the positive reputation and ethic by complying with all company policies and procedures.
  13. Attend to complaints and issues according to SABIC guidance and direction and follow up with the team on the complaint investigation outcome and share results with customers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

University degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymers, or a business-related discipline. 5-10 years of experience in marketing and sales of Polymers and/or petrochemical related industrial products. Fundamental knowledge of Polymer or Petrochemical related product sales in Sri Lanka market. Technical knowledge and skills are a plus. Business oriented with good sense of agility and prioritization. Resourcefulness as a "hunter role" to discover new opportunities and drive sales growth for Sri Lanka. Strong analysis, problem-solving and negotiating & Client management skills. Competitive product and deep market analysis expertise.
