Market Expansion:
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and competitive trends in the Saudi Arabian construction market.
Leverage knowledge of the local market to expand the company’s reach and drive business into new geographic or sectoral areas.
Develop partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that can open doors for new business opportunities and enhance the company’s reputation.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and foster long-term partnerships.
Manage the negotiation and closing of contracts with clients, ensuring favorable terms for the company while maintaining strong client relationships.
Proposal & Bid Management:
Oversee the preparation of high-quality proposals and bid submissions in response to tenders and project opportunities.
Work closely with the project management, technical, and commercial teams to ensure that proposals meet client requirements and are competitive in the market.
Ensure that all bids are compliant with regulatory requirements and that the company’s interests are safeguarded.
Brand Positioning & Marketing:
Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy that positions the company as a leading player in the Saudi construction industry.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance the company’s visibility and network with potential clients and partners.
Lead efforts to enhance the company’s brand, leveraging relationships and market knowledge to increase its market share.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage the business development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve team and company objectives.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance excellence within the team.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align business development goals with the company’s overall growth strategy.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management regarding market trends, new business opportunities, and progress on key initiatives.
Analyze competitors, track market activity, and stay up-to-date on legislative changes or new regulations impacting the construction industry in Saudi Arabia.
Contract Management & Negotiation:
Lead negotiations for major contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the company while meeting client requirements.
Oversee the contract execution process to ensure smooth transitions from business development to project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certifications in business development or construction management is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 10 years in a senior business development or leadership role. Proven track record of securing large-scale construction projects in Saudi Arabia, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial construction. In-depth knowledge of the Saudi Arabian construction market, including key industry players, regulatory requirements, procurement processes, and market dynamics. Established network of high-level contacts within the Saudi construction industry, including government officials, developers, contractors, and consultants.
Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive a team towards achieving business objectives. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at senior levels. High proficiency in proposal writing, contract negotiation, and business strategy development. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market opportunities and develop sound business strategies. Deep understanding of the construction industry, including project lifecycle, costing, and delivery processes. Ability to work under pressure and meet targets while maintaining a strategic outlook.
Additional Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken). Familiarity with the regulatory, economic, and cultural environment of Saudi Arabia is essential. Willingness to travel across the region as required.
