Functional Description:
The Business Applications Analyst will lead and optimize the university's ERP system and other business applications (non-academic systems). This role is critical in ensuring the effective management of enterprise functions such as HR, finance, procurement, project management, and energy/building management by aligning technology with business processes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
ERP & Business Applications Management
- Serve as the primary custodian of the ERP system and related business applications.
- Lead the configuration, customization, and optimization of ERP modules (HR, finance, procurement, project management, etc).
- Ensure seamless integration between ERP and other business systems.
- Oversee system upgrades, enhancements, and vendor coordination.
Business Process Optimization
- Work closely with HR, finance, procurement, and other departments to map and optimize business processes within the ERP.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for ERP enhancements.
- Standardize and document business processes, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Recommend automation and workflow improvements to streamline operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance
- Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure ERP adoption and effectiveness.
- Develop and enforce ERP governance policies for data integrity, security, and compliance.
- Provide training and support to business users to enhance ERP utilization.
Project Management & Reporting
- Manage ERP-related projects, from requirement gathering to implementation.
- Monitor system performance and generate business intelligence reports for leadership.
- Evaluate new technologies and modules to enhance ERP capabilities.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or relevant ERP certifications (e.g., Oodoo, Oracle, SAB, Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in ERP system administration, business applications consulting, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise functions (HR, finance, procurement, project management).
- Experience in higher education ERP systems is preferred.
- Experience working with the Oodoo system is preferred.
- Strong understanding of business processes and ERP best practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into ERP solutions.
- Experience with ERP integration and workflow automation.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in ERP systems.
- Experience working in higher education institutions or complex multi-departmental environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools, process automation, and analytics is preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL, ERP reporting tools, or middleware integration is preferred.
