The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) plays a central role in shaping Saudi Arabia's economic and development policies. By leveraging the principles of behavioral economics, MEP tackles the Kingdom's most pressing socio-economic challenges through data-driven experiments and rigorous research. Our goal is to turn research into real action that drives policy change.

Key Responsibilities:

1. As an Economist at the MEP SEAL Unit, you will:
2. Support idea generation, identifying new areas and ideas for socio-economic experiments and research initiatives.
3. Support the design of experiments and broader research initiatives aimed at understanding human behavior and decision-making in public policy.
4. Implement experiments and ensure they are conducted ethically and rigorously, including recruitment of participants and data collection.
5. Analyze data from experiments using statistical methods and behavioral science frameworks, providing actionable insights to improve policymaking.
6. Generate insights and recommendations based on analysis of experimental data.
7. Contribute to research innovation, staying up to date with the latest methodologies in applied economics and behavioral science.
8. Document and report research findings to inform policy decisions and contribute to academic literature.
9. Strong understanding of economic theory and its application in policymaking.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Academic Background: Bachelor's/Master's degree or PhD in Economics or Public Policy.
2. Years of Experience:
3. Bachelor's degree: 6 years of experience.
4. Master's degree: 4 years of experience.
