This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.

Client focus - Deliver on our promise:

  • Ensure environment and sustainability programs are developed and delivered against agreed objectives, targets and KPIs, including providing oversight and assurance of all project projects, advising delivery teams on preventative and corrective actions required to avoid performance shortfalls.
  • Develop and implement site-wide environmental delivery strategies e.g., environmental impact assessments and environmental permitting, site wide environmental measurement and monitoring schemes, waste management practices.
  • Develop, implement and audit of the project-wide environmental management system (EMS).
  • Input into delivery procurement processes, e.g., review and develop scopes of work, RFP and tender package documentation, employer requirements updates, tender review criteria and scoring.
  • Development of a project-wide system for verification and reporting for sustainable design features, including certification systems, within the construction phase.
  • Support the environment and sustainability component of the project assurance audit programme and data reporting systems.
  • Environment and sustainability education and awareness - develop and implement a project employee sustainability education and awareness plan, ensuring that all staff undertake relevant types of environmental and sustainability training.
  • Establish a site office baseline for environmental performance, introducing targets for improvement, appropriate KPIs and targets (e.g., office waste, water reduction).
  • Working with marketing and communications to identify Saudi CSR award programmes and target entry categories.
  • Supporting the project ESG committee with reporting of data.
  • Working on any ad-hoc HSEQ team wide relevant project activities.
  • Communicating regularly and developing strong relationships across project with delivery teams, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants, including ability to influence at a senior level.
  • Participation in delivery project meetings and workshops, taking the initiative to communicate effectively and regularly with all teams and delivery partners.
  • Ability and willingness to work with multi-national site-based delivery teams; supporting data reporting, internal and external audit programmes, document and report preparation, review and approvals.
  • Lead environment and sustainability focused project meetings and workshops to support the delivery teams, in preparation for all major environment and sustainability deliverables.
  • Working autonomously, taking the initiative to drive deliverables and excellence in all aspects of project delivery environmental and sustainability management.
  • Communicate in a practical and non-technical manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations, particularly on mega and giga-construction projects in the Middle East.
  • Commitment to undertake site field visits and spending time to interact with site-based teams.
  • Ability to obtain a KSA driving license and use company provided vehicle to visit work sites and offices.

Create opportunity - For our people to excel:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental-related discipline; MSc degree desirable.
  • Experience in the field of environmental management, inclusive in the GCC.
  • Experience of upholding a management role within a client, consultant or contractor organization. Professional registration with active professional membership is required.

You’ll need to have:

  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
