Accounting Team Leader

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the accounting team on accounts payable, accounts receivable, stock, and fixed assets to ensure service lines are delivered promptly and efficiently.
2. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
3. Review and improve processes as and when possible for greater efficiency.
4. Complete general ledger staff responsibilities as necessary and appropriate.
5. Verify and approve journal entries as appropriate.
6. Review monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and subledger intercompany accounts.
7. Manage void claim cheque and stop payment process.
8. Control the process of updating client information in the accounting program.
9. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
10. Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions.
11. Handle personnel issues relating to staff performance.

Qualifications:

1. CPA or CMA preferred.
2. Master's degree in accounting or equivalent is a plus.
3. A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting.
4. Proven 2+ years working experience as an Accounting Team Leader.
5. Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
6. Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills.
7. Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
8. Experience with creating financial statements.
9. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
10. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
