Project Proposal Engineer – Industry Europe

Job Purpose:

Drive European Industry project proposals from initial customer request to submission, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction through negotiations with sales representatives.

Location:

Madrid – Spain

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Act as a proposal manager, coordinating, and administering project proposals from inception to completion.
  • Interpret and clarify technical, contractual, and commercial terms to meet customer requirements while managing risks to Grundfos.
  • Coordinate work plans to offer tailored solutions based on customer needs and specifications.
  • Lead internal presentation of proposals for review and approval in line with governance requirements.
  • Utilize technical knowledge of industrial applications, Grundfos and 3rd party products to professionally represent to customers.
  • Develop pre-bid stages including definition, planning, solution development, procurement, and risk assessment.
  • Competent technical knowledge of rotating equipment installation.
  • Communication internally and externally with customers, 3rd party suppliers and contractors.
  • Handle customer issues, working closely with the Delivery Team.
  • Ensure smooth handover of won bids to the project delivery team.
  • Maintain communication with Sales Engineers on opportunities and quotations.

Requirements:

  • Degree level in either Engineering or Project Management with 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role in a large international company.
  • Advanced knowledge of tendering procedures.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, engineering specifications, and contracts.
  • English proficiency.
  • Experience quoting projects in a technically complex environment on time, cost, and quality.
  • Good business and technical understanding with advanced communication skills.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment preferably centrifugal pumps, and contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with project competencies - technical expertise, finance, logistics, contracts, quality, Health & Safety, ISO norms, export regulations.
  • On site experience with rotating equipment installation.
  • Stakeholder management skills across borders and at all levels.
  • Experience with CRM/SAP, Office package.
  • Ability to travel.
