What you will do
- Technical Analysis of Inventions: Analyze the invention technically (review designs, prototypes, and research articles); evaluate that the inventions are novel, useful, and non-obvious (report on the likelihood of patent grant) and verify that the invention is not covered by existing patents (through databases).
- Patent Drafting: Prepare the patent application (technical description, claims, drawings, and concise summary). Drafting the claims will be crucial.
- Patent Prosecution: Collaborate with attorneys, agents, and patent offices to provide additional information, draft amendments, or argue and technically defend patentability.
- Patent Portfolio Management: Identify areas where patents should be filed, as well as monitor existing patents (payment of fees, deadlines, office actions, etc.).
- Collaboration with Legal and Business Teams: Align the patent strategy with business objectives to ensure a competitive advantage (analyzing competitors' patent portfolios and technological trends). Provide technical assistance in case of patent infringement.
- Continual Learning and Expertise: Stay up-to-date with patent laws, court decisions, and technological developments in relevant fields.
