What is the role?
You will develop and implement a market strategy for Aerogen and generate leads to drive the adoption and use of Aerogen technology in the region. You will report to the Senior Marketing Manager EMEA and work in close partnership with the Commercial Director for Central & Eastern Europe, the Medical Affairs department, as well as global cross-functional partners and third-party providers. You are comfortable in communicating in German as well as in English. Professional knowledge of another language spoken in the Region will be a plus.

What are the key responsibilities?

  1. Market Strategy: Based on the EMEA strategy, you will define target customers and create a local market strategy in partnership with the sales team. You will localise and roll out global/EMEA marketing campaigns. You will be close to the markets in your Region and you will use every available opportunity to collect local market data which you will share, together with your recommendations, with the relevant internal stakeholders.
  2. Customer Communication: You will develop and drive the end to end multichannel communication strategy, with appropriate promotional tools, that tells our story in a customer-friendly way, thus increasing awareness and use of our solutions in the market. This includes various media channels, including social media, advertising, email, etc., based on the goals defined in the market strategy. Your strategy will also identify the outcomes you expect to achieve and will define how you are going to measure what good looks like. You will assess the need for translation of marketing materials into German or other regional languages and oversee its execution.
  3. New Product Launches: You will design and drive the product launch plan, after getting buy-in from the Commercial Leadership Team, to achieve a best-in-class launch for maximum market penetration.
  4. Congress and Event Calendar: You will develop and own an event calendar with relevant target audiences and key messages, including ROI tracking and social media plan.
  5. National Customer Events: You will oversee participation in events, plan event presentations, and all promotional and lead generation activities. You will drive innovative booth solutions with third-party providers to maximise impact while managing your marketing budget wisely.
  6. Regional Customer Events: You will manage target audience-relevant key messages for regional conferences and events, in partnership with the local sales colleagues to align communication strategy and implementation on-site.
  7. Distributor Meeting and Strategy: You will lead the marketing onboarding of new distributors according to Aerogen Best Practice, including training on corporate branding, marketing materials, and use of internal digital tools. You will plan and host annual distributor meetings and regularly communicate relevant marketing updates.
  8. Marketing Budget: You will have full responsibility of the marketing budget for your region, adhering to relevant approval processes. You will report monthly to your leader on budget and forecasts.
  9. KOL Management: Your marketing plan will include a KOL strategy, developed in partnership with Medical Affairs. You will coordinate and execute peer-to-peer events, webinars, etc., and create corresponding contracts.
  10. Peer to Peer Education: You will manage peer-to-peer education activities (symposia, workshops, webinars) in partnership with Medical Affairs and the sales team. You will also accredit events for CME points and launch the Aerogen Education Portal "AeroEd".
  11. Engagement with Professional Societies: You will partner with the Medical Affairs team in working with relevant medical societies to create educational programs, events, and shape local guidelines.
  12. Corporate Communications: You will ensure compliance with our corporate brand guidelines within the region with appropriate training for Aerogen distributors.

What education and experience are required?
  1. You have 5+ years of experience in medical technology marketing. If you have also dipped your toes in Sales, that is a strong plus.
  2. You are fluent in German and English. Professional knowledge of another language spoken in the region is a plus.
  3. You have previous demonstrable experience of owning and managing a budget as well as of developing and implementing a marketing strategy with corresponding ROI.

What key skills will make you great at the role?
  1. You are strategic in your approach: think things through, focusing on long term plans and implications and consider risk and benefits of the possible options before making a proposal.
  2. You are energetic, driven and self-motivated.
  3. You are creative, can get others excited about your vision and do not lose sight of the details at the same time.
  4. You are dependable and highly responsible: you set clear, realistic expectations and deliver on your commitment.
  5. You are an effective communicator who adjusts style, tone of voice and content to the audience.
  6. You are very at ease using data to build rationale for your proposals as well as to analyse the impact of the actions and projects you lead.
  7. You are resilient and thrive in a fast-paced environment which is evolving rapidly. You are good at setting priorities, in alignment with your stakeholders, and then driving projects through to conclusion.
  8. You play in the team and for the team: everyone’s ultimate goal is to ensure that our products get to the patients that need them.
  9. You can share multiple examples of how you have purposefully built effective professional relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  10. You are familiar with project management principles and tools and have proven experience in using those to deliver projects on time, at budget and expected quality standards.
  11. You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Designer.
  12. We would like for you to be ideally based in our Ratingen office. If location is the only reason why you are hesitant in applying, please do go ahead as we can be flexible on location for the right candidate.
  13. Central and Eastern Europe is quite a large region and we strongly believe in face to face interactions with our colleagues in customers, where possible. We would expect that, in this role, you would travel 30 to 40% of your time.
