The Role

Come join a team of experts building the systems that improve and perfect quality at Tesla. We are looking for a motivated data scientist / data engineer that is capable of designing and developing value-add data-driven applications. You will be designing and building highly-scalable and performant applications that will deliver functionality to our engineers to enable them to deliver the best quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
  • Work with stakeholders to take a vague problem statement, refine the scope of the analysis, and use the results to drive informed decisions.
  • Identifying opportunities, designing solutions, and providing software tools that increase manufacturing quality.
  • Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
  • Operate and support your production applications.

What You’ll Bring

  • High proficiency in Python, SQL.
  • Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning.
  • Experience building machine learning models that provided company value.
  • Background in writing software in a professional environment, writing clean and tested code.
  • Worked with DevOps and CICD (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins,…).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Clearly documenting your work is key.
  • Smart but humble, with a bias for action.

Nice to have

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fullstack knowledge.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Elastic Search.
  • Basic sysadmin capabilities.
  • Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and with streaming and stream processing frameworks such as Kafka, MQTT, Faust, Spark Streaming, etc.
