Become part of Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH, the Lummus Technology Polymers Business Unit, where we develop, globally license, and service a portfolio of polymer technologies such as the successful Novolen PP (the #1 licensed polypropylene technology in recent years), EXCENE HDPE, LDPE and EVA technologies along with the Saplene Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP) technology. We also develop and provide polymerization catalysts for use in these processes, and continuously develop new products to meet the latest market requirements.

For Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH in Mannheim/ Germany we are looking for a Senior Polymer Process Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Project Execution team.
Key Responsibilities / Proficient in engineering skills like
- Preparation of heat and material balances utilizing Pro/II or other simulation software
- Process Design for equipment with Lummus design tools or standard tools like, e.g. HTRI
- Line sizing (general hydraulic calculation tasks)
- Calculation of safety valves (flow rates acc to API)
- Development of P&IDs for new and modified systems
- Provision of input from Process perspective to Safety Interlocks and control philosophy
- Provision of input to Plot Plan and plant lay-out development
- Start-up support and supervision
- Professional interaction with inhouse and external clients
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Accredited engineering degree, preferred M.S. in Chemical or Process Engineering
- 5-8 years of detail process engineering experience in lead role and/or specialization
- Generally current on latest scientific and engineering methods
- Essential to have good understanding of polymer technologies
- Familiar with solids handling is a plus (conveying equipment, feeders, sieves, mills, mixers, etc)
- Knowledge in using CAE tools (SmartPlant, Comos, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written, internal and external)
- Very good English language skills (verbal and written); German language skills advantageous
- Willingness for short term assignments to worldwide locations
