Do you want to take your experience in Account Management and Relationship Development to the next level? Strategic client development is a key investment area for Hays globally and we are looking for a Key Account Manager to join the Life Sciences Department to help us achieve our goals to increase our market share of MedTech clients for Switzerland.

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to be based in Basel. This is a client facing role, you will work in close collaboration with the Department Manager and the wider Team to put in place client development strategies for a key client portfolio. The key element of the job will be working with MedTech clients to further increase our external headcount and ensure revenue targets are achieved.

Your new role

Your role will be to manage and maximise the working relationships with key clients, building the Hays client partnership and ensuring Hays is regarded as a preferred supplier with high achieving working practices.

You will be the lead contact for your clients dealing with general queries and job release, client enquiries and first point of escalation for operational challenges. You will be the ambassador for Hays, promoting our business and maximising our impact and partnership with the client.

You will lead review meetings to calibrate our service and client objectives. You will be responsible for determining the level of interaction and development strategy internally, in conjunction with other parts of our Swiss business and widening out where needed to the rest of the Hays world.

You will be responsible for developing our customer base, increasing external headcount, and managing topics related to contracts (such as extensions, price negotiations and legal boundaries). To ensure your focus on the client side, you will receive support from recruiters finding candidates and care specialists managing your active external workforce.

You will also be fully engaged with our regional networks and locations to make sure any jobs released from the client portfolio are filled. It will be your responsibility to influence and manage the recruiting consultants throughout the client engagement process, ensuring key recruitment milestones are met, and reporting revenue generated.

You will run consultant performance reviews regularly and challenge issues that may be raised. Most importantly, you will be the key reference point for recruitment trends and a true strategic advisor for the client.

This is a key role within the Life Science Department.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this job, we are looking for someone who has client management experience at a corporate level. You will need to be committed to meeting fee targets, and confident in a fee and target driven environment. To understand how we operate and our processes, you will need to have significant experience within key account management in the Med Tech industry, in the contracting/temp business. German language is essential and French would be an advantage. We will ask you to demonstrate where you have built successful relationships with clients and how you have been perceived as a trusted advisor, both of which are key to your success in this role.

We need you to be determined to achieve success through achieving targets, taking accountability for your client portfolio and having a strong sense of ownership. You will need to be a great communicator at all levels, have a keen eye for detail with the ability to prioritise multiple demands. This will be an exciting role to develop your leadership experience through client management and successful delivery into key accounts and recruitment campaigns.
