EL2 Director - Risk Manager

We are seeking an experienced EL2 Director - Risk Manager to join a major federal government department and provide high-level risk management leadership to a nationally critical transformation program.

As the Director - Risk Manager, you will lead strategic and operational risk management activities across a complex program environment. This role sits within a high-performing PMO and plays a key part in ensuring consistent, proactive, and compliant risk practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain program-wide risk frameworks, policies, and governance processes
• Provide high-level risk advice to project managers, executives, and governance bodies
• Develop and manage risk registers aligned with the agency’s enterprise risk framework
• Deliver clear and concise risk reports, including executive briefs and dashboards
• Facilitate risk identification workshops and monitor treatment plans

About You

• Proven experience in risk management within a PMO or large-scale government program
• Strong working knowledge of risk frameworks, methodologies, and project governance
• Highly developed reporting skills with excellent attention to detail
• Confident facilitator and advisor, skilled at engaging with senior stakeholders
• Experience leading or mentoring small teams in a high-paced environment
