The JOB: Director of Front Office
We are looking for a Director of Front Office that will provide leadership to the front office team, which includes the following departments; Front Desk, Concierge, Valet, and Resort PBX Operator.
Requirements
- Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective team members.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all resort features, services, hours of operation, all room types, room layouts, room rates/packages and special promotions, room availability status for any given day, and scheduled group activities.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and answer any guest questions/resolve any guest issues or complaints.
- Ensure that all current information on rates, packages and promotions is available in the Front Desk and that all staff is knowledgeable on such information.
- Direct front office operations such as checking-in, checking-out and providing guest assistance whilst ensuring compliance with all front office policies, procedures, standards and focus on guest satisfaction.
- Develop, implement and review the policies, procedures, practices and standards.
- Select, train, develop, schedule and manage the performance of Front Office team members to ensure the efficient running of Front Office operations.
- Review resumes, conduct interviews and select new team member additions to the Front Office.
- Establish control systems for controllable costs on labor in order to effectively meet budget.
- Ensure that plans and actions are in place to meet department goals.
- Maximize hotel revenue by controlling room inventory, group blocking, packages, and upselling.
- Maintain high visibility to ensure efficient running of operations, take corrective actions and handle customer complaints to ensure their satisfaction.
- Greet VIP guests upon arrival and escort them to their rooms.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all guests are given exceptional service and provided with everything requested/needed during their stay.
- Prepare annual budget for the Front Office.
- Keep all team members updated on emergency procedures, hotel promotions, product knowledge, VIP arrivals, and events.
- Administrative duties such as leading and attending meetings, writing reports, and other specific duties related.
- Provide feedback for team members according to their performance and handle disciplinary issues.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly payroll records.
- Review daily business levels, anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions to best expedite these situations.
- Monitor revenues from rooms.
Our ideal candidate must have:
- A minimum of 3 years luxury resort front office experience in a managerial role.
- The ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
- The ability to maintain a work environment that presents a clean and professional image.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time.
- The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- The ability to stoop, bend, and reach.
