Premier company in the Rome area is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maximize the Company’s potential as an attractive company
  • Keeping HR costs competitive
  • Select, recruit, train and retain people that fit into both the functional needs as to the corporate culture that the Company is trying to build: growth seeker, upbeat, professional
  • Manage the complexity of HR in a manufacturing environment
  • Design, plan, and implement human resource programs and policies including staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and various HR compliance functions

  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Benefits & Compensation
  • All facets of Unemployment
  • All facets of Worker’s Compensation
  • Updates and enforces Company Policies & Procedures
  • Oversees Office Staff and Mail Room
  • Prepares new employee files and employee orientations
  • Coordinates Drug/Alcohol Testing
  • Processes terminations
  • Performs various research projects
  • Perform regular reports on Labor Costs and turnover
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Handle HR related audits
  • Keeping updates - Policy and Procedure Handbook
  • Garnishments: Child Support, Liens
  • Handling Employee Assistance Program
  • Working towards employee retention by assessing the company’s needs and embracing initiatives towards it
  • Working towards employee development by assessing company’s needs and embracing initiatives towards it, namely training
  • Contributing towards a work environment and culture that facilitates good feelings about the company
  • Miscellaneous tasks such as verifying invoices, proposing donations or donation programs
  • Assist in conflict management
  • Contributing to Budget and Managing assigned accounts
  • Defining workload of people within department
  • Evaluating people within department
  • Disciplining and hiring people within budget, assist other managers in such tasks
  • Motivating Human Resources assigned and help other managers as needed
  • Responsible to adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • B.S. preferable or 10+ years of experience in HR is required
  • Must be knowledgeable of current employment laws and regulations
  • The HR Manager will have access to sensitive information. It is essential to establish and maintain the trust of individual employees and the Company, and protect the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully
  • Maintains confidentiality, and is an attentive participant in discussions with employees concerning HR issues
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel [advanced], PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality

Salary: $100K + Bonus
