At the Pedagogical State Institute Rhineland-Palatinate, in Department 4 "Central Services and IT Services", Unit 4.06 "eSchule24 Portals", three permanent positions are available at the Koblenz location at the earliest possible date as:

If the requirements under collective bargaining law are met, a classification up to pay group 11 of the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L) is possible.

The Pädagogisches Landesinstitut Rheinland-Pfalz (PL) is a service institution of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate for advice and further training aimed at Rhineland-Palatinate schools and teachers as well as all those involved in schools.

The PL offers various IT services in the school context, including online-supported applications, platforms, and network solutions.

The eSchule24 portals are online-supported applications used to handle various projects, programs, and processes. In terms of content, the advertised position deals with the integration of digital teaching and learning materials into the textbook lending system and the RLP school campus. Further information on textbook lending, the Schulcampus project, and the Pädagogisches Landesinstitut can be found on the Rhineland-Palatinate education server.

Fields of work/areas of activity

  • Creation and further development of software projects (technical management)
  • Software development and administration
  • Database development and administration
  • Supporting the software life cycle (requirements management, planning, design, development, testing & troubleshooting, implementation, further development, maintenance, and technical documentation)
  • One position has an additional focus on responsive design and user-friendliness (UX/UI)

Applicants are expected to have:

  • Completed studies in computer science (FH/Bac), business informatics, a natural science degree program, or engineering science
  • Experience in web development (frontend and backend); .Net knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience with relational database systems
  • Good knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js is an advantage
  • Understanding of responsive design and user experience (UX/UI)
  • Experience with APIs and web services
  • Basic knowledge of project management methods (classic and agile)
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Ability to work in a team and flexibility
  • Creativity, independent working style, and a good feel for design trends

Preference will be given to applicants with practical experience in the management of large and medium-sized IT projects. We require employees with in-depth knowledge of current standards in information technology interface formats and current architecture concepts of distributed applications and distributed systems. Relevant legal knowledge as well as knowledge of the structure and process organization in the municipal and state sector are an advantage.

These are three full-time positions. In principle, the advertised positions are also suitable for part-time employees, whereby the right is reserved to check in individual cases whether the part-time wishes can be met within the scope of the official possibilities (desired organization of working hours taking into account the requirements of the position).
