Our Roche Diagnostics IP Management Team works in the field of diagnostic instruments, laboratory systems and reagents across different business units. In close collaboration with Patent Attorneys and R&D projects, we provide comprehensive IP support to protect our innovations, conduct freedom to operate activities, and strengthen IP awareness within the organisation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for you as IP Manager Reagents (m/f/d). In this position you will be responsible for interacting with project managers and members of development teams in the field of diagnostic assays, reagents and instruments. You will therefore be part of our IP Management team working at different locations.
Your tasks will be:
IP generation
Collecting and identifying valuable patent ideas
Collaborate with inventors and Patent Attorneys to evaluate patent ideas and relevant prior art
Advice and assist inventors in the preparation and filing of invention disclosures
Provide technical support to Patent Attorneys in filing patent applications and handling office actions, oppositions and appeals
Support in the annual review of IP portfolio
Freedom To Operate analysis
Identification of product features for IP analysis
Provision of FTO Searches
Pre-screen and assist technical experts with technical evaluation of search results
IP awareness
Develop and organize IP trainings, events or workshops together with Patent Attorneys to increase IP awareness and understanding of IP related processes in the organization
General support
Support and technical advice on IP issues and inquiries at the interface of R&D, Patent Attorneys, and business
Support of the consolidation, documentation and implementation of IP strategies and processes
Who you are
You have a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology or a related field and have experience in intellectual property related to diagnostic assays and reagents
Profound knowledge in diagnostic instruments and systems is a plus
You are able to manage multiple projects and be responsive to collaborations with Patent Attorneys and R&D team members
You have experience in searching, screening, and technically evaluating patent literature relevant to diagnostic assays and reagents
Furthermore, you work efficiently, effectively and in a structured manner across different diagnostic business units and technical areas. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You are fluent in English and have at least basic knowledge of German.
