NHMRC is seeking an experienced and high performing candidate to fill a 12 month temporary vacancy as a Senior Payroll and Reporting Officer. Job specific duties
As the Senior Payroll and Reporting Officer, you will supervise Payroll Officer to support the delivery of NHMRCs pay and condition services including:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations within Aurion including fortnightly pay run, pay variations, leave entitlements, superannuation, salary sacrifice and staff movements.
- Prepare regular payroll reports, support compliance reporting and contribute to ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders on a range of HR queries not limited to pay and conditions.
- Support the development and maintenance of payroll procedures and documentation.
- Analyse and interpret knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures governing pay and conditions to problem solve.
- Resolve complex payroll queries and anomalies.
- Undertake complex payroll and workers compensation processes and manage the resolution of issues and escalated enquires/complaints.
- Maintain confidentiality/integrity while exercising discretion in accurate record management.
- Action requests for people data and responses to government reporting requirements relating to the APS Agency Survey, Annual Report, Questions on Notice and Senate Estimate briefings, remuneration reporting and other reports as required.
- Ensure precision in financial management practices including pay reconciliation.
- Identify areas of improvement and actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of NHMRC’s pay functions.
- Other duties as required.
Mandatory requirement
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance and be an Australian citizen.
