Sr. Quality Control (Steel Works) (Overseas & Local Hire Qatar)

Key responsibilities:

1. Perform in-process and post-production quality inspections on steel works.
2. Verify that workmanship and materials comply with project specifications and industry standards.
3. Monitor fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to ensure adherence to quality procedures.
4. Review and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality control manuals.
5. Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and document findings.
6. Ensure quality compliance with ISO, HSE, and shipyard quality assurance policies.
7. Identify and report non-conformities, defects, and deviations in steel structures and welded components.
8. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality-related issues.
9. Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and certifications for project documentation.
10. Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management teams to resolve quality concerns.
11. Conduct quality training sessions for production staff to enhance compliance with standards.

Qualifications & requirements:

1. ITI or Trade Apprenticeship in a relevant field.
2. NDT and Quality-related certifications are an added advantage.
3. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Controller (Steel Works) in a Shipyard, specializing in ship repair or shipbuilding.
4. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education must have at least 4 years of experience as a Production Quality Controller in a Shipyard.
5. Strong knowledge of welding procedures, material testing, and steel fabrication standards.
6. Familiarity with ISO, HSE, and shipyard quality control processes.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
8. Age below 40 years old preferred.
