Plan and coordinate teaching assignments and daily laboratory activities to align with academic schedules, ensuring smooth operations, optimal use of laboratory resources, and integration with instructional programs.
Prepare laboratory manuals and standard laboratory procedures under faculty supervision for students and staff, to provide clear guidelines for consistent and effective laboratory activities.
Correct laboratory reports according to faculty-prepared guidelines, assisting in accurate grading and upholding academic standards.
Conduct presentations on laboratory equipment or procedures to enhance student understanding of tools and techniques in the lab.
Maintain the laboratory equipment, including monitoring the equipment maintenance schedule to keep equipment in good working order, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Keep inventory and order laboratory supplies to ensure that necessary materials are available for teaching and research activities.
Enforce laboratory safety regulations in collaboration with the Research Safety Team to protect students and staff by ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Support faculty in daily lab operations by coordinating activities, preparing experiments, maintaining course files, and managing resources to ensure effective teaching and safety.
Coordinate teaching assignments for laboratory sections to streamline the scheduling and resource use for laboratory sessions in collaboration with faculty.
Train and supervise laboratory technicians and student workers in the handling and preparation of laboratory materials, developing a competent support team to ensure smooth lab operations.
Prepare laboratory experiments and instructional materials to support effective teaching and learning in the lab.
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
6-8 years of relevant full-time experience in laboratory operations within an educational institution.
Experience in laboratory teaching or as an Educational Laboratory Engineer.
Strong knowledge of embedded systems, digital design, computer architecture, artificial intelligence, and relevant programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, VHDL, Verilog).
Candidates with strengths in hardware-software integration, FPGA programming, or IoT applications are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency in understanding both the theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory experiments.
Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
Ability to write laboratory manuals, procedures, and reports.
Proficiency in technical drawing.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
