Job description

To execute contracts and tendering related activities as assigned, by coordinating with end users to finalize scope, undertaking necessary market studies, preparing tender documents, reviewing and negotiating contract terms and administering assigned contracts to ensure they optimum execution in the best interest of the company and in line with contract terms.

The Role:

  1. Recommend and implement policies and procedures required for contracting processes.
  2. Negotiate with suppliers to draw up procurement contracts and facilitate contract administration, extension, termination and renegotiation.
  3. Formulate and coordinate procurement proposals for assigned area.
  4. Coordinate the activities of teams engaged in formulating bid proposals, scope of work and bid review and evaluation as assigned.
  5. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  6. Review requests for deviations from contract specifications and delivery schedules and advise management on appropriate action, rejection or approval.
  7. Lead in arbitration on claims or complaints occurring in performance of contracts by representing the interests of the company in line with the terms and conditions of contracts as assigned.
  8. Analyze and evaluate price/commercial proposals, and other data/information submitted by the vendors, determine reasonableness of prices and recommend best offers.
  9. Participate in negotiation process with vendors and ensure the company's interests are upheld.
  10. Act as a liaison between vendors and the company's user department by facilitating contacts and information flow during pre and post award phases.
  11. Maintain awareness and up-to-date knowledge on best practices and industry trends on contracts to facilitate continuous improvement.
  12. Prepare periodic reports regarding assigned contract activities.

Work Experience:
6 + years experience in supply contracts; 2 years of which must have been in handling similar services, preferably in a manufacturing or similar industry.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business or Law plus professional qualifications in Supply Chain management such as CIPS.

Skills:

  1. Strong knowledge of contracts and business law.
  2. In-depth knowledge of required administrative and/or operations services (technical or general).
  3. Knowledge of leading best practices contracts and procurement.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Strong negotiation skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Computer literacy with high proficiency in MS Office and ERP modules.

Training courses in supply chain management, contracts, negotiation, communication and other related courses.
