As a Business Development Manager, you will be part of a larger team within the Sales department, responsible for providing seamless and customer-focused solutions to support the achievement of business growth in Qatar through promoting freight services, gaining new business, and developing/retaining existing customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for local business development by acquiring new accounts and developing market share with existing customers to an agreed annual target.
  2. Prepares a BD plan and manages the sales cycle, consistently monitors, and achieves set targets.
  3. Manages the onboarding of new accounts to ensure fulfillment of all requirements and smooth assimilation.
  4. Generate leads, set appointments, and present business proposals to potential customers through various communication channels, including face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, emails, etc.
  5. Prepares prompt and precise presentations, plans, and communication exchanges with prospective customers.
  6. Manage and maintain pipelines, respond to requests for information in a timely manner, and remain proactive and responsive to prospective customers.
  7. Conducts review meetings with internal stakeholders including the account management, operation & logistics teams, and finance department.
  8. Study the market, including competitors, carriers, market trends, fluctuations, and changes.
  9. Reviews the Interdepartmental, Inter-Sectional, and Client SLAs periodically. Recommends review of contracts and SLAs where service levels exceed or cannot cope with requirements.
  10. Any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet business exigencies.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

  1. Diploma/Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  2. At least 3-5 years of experience in the Logistics & Freight Forwarding industry with exposure to sales and BD.
Competencies:

  1. Strong people skills, outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  2. Good in communication and negotiation.
  3. Strategic thinking and statistical analysis skills.
