Job overview

The purpose of the role is to manage and oversee all legal aspects of banking and finance activities of the Group, safeguarding its position and ensuring compliance with any requirements.

Your impact on our goals

Specialization on Contracts:

  • Take lead legal role on banking and finance transactions, engaging and managing Group attorneys and outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Scope and manage due diligence strategy and process.
  • Draft and negotiate banking and finance agreements and other key legal documents including term sheets, memoranda of understanding, and security documents.
  • Work with Group and Finance to optimize financial, tax, and transaction structuring.
  • Provide recommendations to the Group regarding legal aspects of banking and finance transactions.
  • Provide legal support as required outside the banking sector as may be required by the legal team from time to time.

Your profile

Experience

  • Should have 10 years of experience in mortgage banking and have significant experience with the mortgage industry as well as other consumer financial products and services.
  • Should be specializing in Finance Law.
  • Must have commercial finance experience, including experience in lending transactions, secured loans, and banking matters such as:
    • Bank Lending
    • Property Finance
    • Project Finance
    • Acquisition Finance
    • Assets Finances
    • Derivatives
    • Capital markets
    • Islamic finance
  • Strong academics and communication skills are also required.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Law.
  • Business degree a plus.
  • Bar membership in a Gulf Region state, EU country, or US.
  • Fluency in English essential; fluency in Arabic a plus.
