We are looking for an experienced GCP developer with leadership skills who could join the team working for a customer from the energy sector.
The team is responsible for developing a platform that runs the workloads of customers and other project teams. The current focus is on Google Cloud. The GCP Lead Developer will support the GCP Architect with PoC work and creating architecture documentation. In addition, the lead developer is responsible for the development foundation, i.e., defines development processes (incl. DevOps, CI/CD), tooling, and best practices. The lead developer will mentor other engineers, conduct code reviews, and coordinate task distribution in the GCP team, including taking over responsibility for work results of the team. Apart from the lead responsibilities, the lead engineer will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and testing K8s-related public cloud services, and exposing them in an abstracted form to internal and external consumers.
What will You bring?
- Conduct PoC work.
- Support the architect in designing and documenting the GCP platform architecture.
- Improve the foundation for platform development, define development processes, tooling, and best practices.
- Proactively solve deficiencies in the development process.
- Mentor other engineers, conduct code reviews, and coordinate task distribution in the team.
- Document work results in Jira/Confluence.
- Actively liaise with relevant roles like Product Line Lead, Product Owner, Scrum Master.
- Work in an agile Scrum environment.
- Take over responsibility for work results of the team.
- Configure, implement, and test various K8s-related public cloud services.
Must-Have Competencies/Skills:
- Ability to lead and mentor a team with different skill levels, empathetic leadership.
- GCP professional-level certification.
- Proven experience as a lead developer including responsibility for work results of team members.
- Proven experience in defining development tooling, processes, and applying best practices.
- Proven experience in configuring/implementing GKE services.
- Proven experience with cloud security.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Plan, implement, and maintain custom operators.
- Good skills in Python, Go, and shell scripting.
- Very deep knowledge in building Docker compatible Images the right way.
- Experience in building RESTful APIs following the OpenAPI specification.
- Experience in K8S Network Policies, Workload Identity (Federation), RBAC.
- Able to write Helm Charts.
- Good experience in debugging different topics on K8S.
