Job description

The primary purpose of this role is to be a credible business partner to the Philippines Commercial Business Leadership Team in building and implementing effective people solutions to deliver business growth in addition to managing local internal and external HR interface with key stakeholders in Philippines.

The role acts as lead for PX in the market and reports into the Cluster People Experience Lead for MISP markets for this role.

The role is a member of the Philippine Country Management Council (CMC).

The role is eligible to be appointed as one of the Board of Directors/Officers of the Company.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Philippine CMC and senior business leaders in creating and carrying through a strong people strategy that is aligned with business’ objectives and focused on creating a competitive advantage for Pfizer by building a productive, agile and high performing workforce.
  • Lead the strategic thinking on designing a talent strategy with the aim of attracting, and retaining high potential talent and developing a strong leadership pipeline for critical roles for the business.
  • Work with leaders on the design and delivery of employee development plans with a focus on building skills and capabilities both for the present and the future.
  • Generate relevant data insights from use of employee metrics, market trends to determine the efficacy of Talent strategy and processes, and apply insights to re-engineer existing processes and/or build effective solutions for dynamic business needs.
  • Be a trusted counsel to business leaders in the market on people and organizational matters, shaping the mindset of leaders on what it takes to create winning teams (i.e. enhanced leadership capabilities); lead by example to drive synergy and collaboration between different leadership styles.
  • Partner with the business leadership team to successfully bring colleagues into various change journeys within the organization, including building future ready organizational designs and workforce optimization plans in consultation with internal stakeholders and the Cluster Head.
  • Ensure compliance with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipate and mitigate potential risks; enforce adherence to requirements; ensure procedural fairness in employee relations matters and advise business leaders/managers on remediation actions when required.
  • Advocate a harmonious working environment by creating and driving labor relations strategy as well as tactical plans resulting to a productive workforce, staying within the means of labor law framework in Pfizer Philippines and managing and engaging Unionized workforce in line with the statute and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in place.
  • Prepare for CBA with the unionized colleagues by working cross functionally with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure a harmonious work environment is maintained at all times.
  • To fulfill role as a member of the Board of Trustees for Pfizer's Retirement Plan by making and carrying out decisions in accordance with retirement plan rules and within the terms of the Trust Agreement.
  • Be the value-added partner to the business and embrace “outside-in” perspectives by engaging with external stakeholders (i.e. AmCham, The Conference Board-Asia, HBA-Asia Pacific, and other HR organizations and communities local and at the region).
  • Be a proponent of work simplification and find opportunities to reduce complexity and inefficiency of work processes in own functional area to enhance colleague experience.

Organization Stakeholder Management:

  • Partners closely with Global & Regional Cluster Lead and Leaders of the Malaysia Singapore, Indonesia Philippines cluster for their needs in the market and colleagues & COEs.
  • Internal Stakeholders (Country Manager, Head People Experience, Category and Functional leaders, enabling function leads, above market leaders).
  • External stakeholders (Employment related statutory authorities, talent partners and vendors, Universities; HR Associations; Heads of HR and C&B COE).

Resources Managed (budget and FTEs):

  • Individual contributor role.
  • 12+ years of HR experience with at least 5 years of people management and leadership roles.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in related subject area is preferred.
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment is needed.
  • Strong communication skills is an essential requirement.
  • A proven track record of stakeholder management and developing talent is essential.
  • Deep experience in change management and leading transformation is needed.
  • Must have relationship management, coaching and collaboration skills.
  • Influence, shaping solutions negotiation and partnership skills are required.
  • Ability to understand and integrate internal and external business drivers and financial metrics to drive talent outcomes for the business is preferred.
