Mergers and Acquisitions Director

Goodman Masson are exclusively partnering with a commercial business based in Muscat, Oman. They currently require a General Manager to lead their M&A function. Reporting to the chief of strategy, you will lead their efforts in identifying and executing transformative opportunities in line with global and regional market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior executives to develop robust strategic and economic frameworks for corporate development.
• Drive the initiation, implementation, and management of mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and corporate development projects.
• Oversee the development and execution of post-merger integration strategies.
• Provide strategic guidance on corporate governance, partner relationships, and portfolio company performance.
• Conduct strategic reviews of portfolio companies, offering insights and recommendations for growth, business model pivots, and organisational changes.
• Establish management information systems and performance reporting frameworks for executive leadership and boards.
• Support engagements with credit rating agencies and contribute to investor relations activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in corporate development, innovation, or strategy, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in investment appraisal, M&A due diligence, and valuation.
• Investment banking experience is desired.
• Dealing with telecoms or technology businesses is desirable.
